BRAC Monthly Lunch

Join BRAC on November 6th to hear from Fred Raiford, Director of Transportation and Drainage in East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome's
administration. He will be discussing the MovEBR initiative to build new roads, sidewalks, and manage traffic in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The MovEBR tax proposition is a ½ cent sales tax up for approval on the December 8 ballot. If the road and traffic tax passes on December 8, the revenue generated shall be spent only on the projects listed in the approved plan. This tax revenue cannot be used for any other projects other than the projects specified in the MovEBR plan.

More about the speaker
Fred Raiford currently serves as the Director of Transportation and Drainage for East Baton Rouge. Prior to that he served as Chief of Staff for the Mayor for the City of Walker from January 2009 until February 2017. He also held positions with both Evans-Graves Engineering and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. In addition, he spent time over 26 years working for the Department of Public Works for Baton Rouge City/Parish Government where he oversaw 17 divisions including engineering, street, drainage, and building maintenance and sewer operations treatment. He also attended Nicholls State University with a focus on Business Administration.
