A 2022 addition to the LANTEC instructional team, Chas brings 20 years of experience as a college professor and communication researcher with an extensive dramatic arts background. He has coached both teams and individuals to achieve public speaking championships on the state and national levels as a Speech & Debate coach for Louisiana State University, the University of Alabama, and most recently the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
As a founding member of The Plural Noun Improv Troupe, Chas understands the transformative power of performance, blending academia and creativity in workshops for local groups such as Basin Arts and the Baton Rouge Improv Festival. Accordingly, he is adept at evaluating presentations, coaching techniques, and using argumentative structures to foster collaboration, negotiation/persuasive skills, creativity, and problem-solving techniques.
Chas has a knack for analyzing his audience and adapting the discussion to meet participants where they are. He loves reaching for big ideas and bringing them down to earth, and he’s passionate about helping people find an actionable path to their best personal and professional self.
