LANTEC has been an approved PRIMARY training provider for LWC since 2008, and a secondary provider since program inception in FY 2000-2001.The Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP) is a partnership between the Louisiana Workforce Commission, employers (YOU!) and training providers (US!). The IWTP grants are intended to benefit businesses by developing employees’ skills to enhance productivity and company growth. The program’s primary objectives are to create new jobs, retain employees and increase wages for trained Louisiana workers. The Louisiana Workforce Commission also maintains the Registered Apprenticeship Program, which is a nationally recognized, voluntary industry-driven training program. In October 2018, LANTEC was approved as the state's first and sole training provider for the registered IT/Cybersecurity apprenticeship endeavor. Employers participating in an apprenticeship hiring agreement are eligible for additional IWTP application points if grant-eligible.
